Channeling: This Is It

This past weekend I saw MJ's 'This Is It' film, it is a must see, it was great!! Not only because of his amazing dance moves and his kind spirit but for his fashion! He was outfitted in some sparkly numbers, strong shoulders, band jackets, just to name a few. I recommend moon walking straight to the stores to check out these trends...or check it out on these sights.

  • Chocolate-Hazelnut Smooches

  • 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread (recommended: Nutella)
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened (1 stick)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup orange sprinkles, or orange sugar
  • 1 (9-ounce) package of chocolate candy kisses, unwrapped (recommended: Hershey's)
  • 1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

    2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

    3. In another medium bowl, place the chocolate hazelnut spread, butter, and both sugars. Using a hand mixer, cream the ingredients together, about 3 minutes.

    4. Add the egg and vanilla and blend until incorporated.

Stir in the dry ingredients, just until incorporated.

    5. Shape the cookie dough into walnut-sized balls.

Roll the balls in the orange sprinkles or orange sugar, pressing to adhere.

Place the cookies on a heavy cookie sheet about 4 inches apart.

    6. Bake for 8 minutes.

Remove the cookies from the oven.

    7. Quickly place a chocolate kiss in the middle of each cookie.

Return the cookies to the oven and bake for another 3 minutes.

Cool the cookies on a wire rack.

Two years ago when I was cleaning out my great aunts room and she had 3 drawers full of shoulder pads. I of course saw no reason to keep all 300 of them at the time but now, I am kicking myself for throwing them ALL away. She had small ones, medium ones, all the way to xxl. Shoulder pads are so in they were all over the runways so go get you some mass produced shoulder pads and wear those strong shoulders.

photos: The Sartorialist, pink memo

Scott Schuman made a stop in Dallas for his book signing tour. Fashionistas lined up to get their new book signed and snap photos. He started his photography career taking photos of his children playing in the park. With that along with his long career in the fashion industry he now has a very successful blog in which he travels the globe snapping pics of the most fashionable. I am sure most have heard of it but check it out here.

I am loving the girly, layered and textured look JCrew is going for this spring. The chunky layered jewelry and bright neon colors are fab. Can't wait to get my hands on some of those items.

I am currently obssessing over this NEW OPI Suede nail polish. It is shimmery yet matte, I have gotten many compliments on it lately! Go get you some.

Yes! You heard me right. Tom Ford will be designing a WW line in the near future. He will need to get funding, designers and all the essential elements of creating a line but at least the anticipation awaits! The collection will hopefully hit the catwalk in February 2010.
